Morocco Sahara Tours 5 Days from Marrakch to Marrakech via Merzouga

Marrakech – Dadès Gorges – Merzouga Desert Ouarzazate – Marrakech


Day 1: Marrakech – Skoura – Valley of Roses – Dades Valley.

Morocco Sahara Tours 5 days from Marrakech tour starts at 08:30 picking up our clients in their Riad or Hotel.

Departure from Marrakech towards the Dades Gorges, crossing the High Atlas.  passing through the highest mountain pass in all of Morocco, the Tizi-n-Tichka with 2260 meters.

You can enjoy panoramic stops with spectacular views.

Its Berber villages barely distinguish themselves with the color of the earth.

We will stop to rest and you can enjoy a delicious mint tea, very typical of the country.

Then you can visit a women’s cooperative in which the famous argan oil is made and where they prepare all kinds of cosmetics and oils.

We continue our way leaving the mountain pass behind. It is then that the landscape changes abruptly and becomes an arid and desert land. We continue the route to the Dades Gorges, passing through Ouarzazate, the cinema capital, where the “Atlas Estudios” film studios are located.

Great movies have been recorded there as Gladiator, Asterix, Cleopatra, The Jewel of the Nile and many others. Stop for lunch.
Then we will go to the Skoura Valley, where we can enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful Kasbah of Amridil which is
in the so-called “Route of the thousand Kasbahs”.

We will continue the route to the Valley of the Roses where we can visit a cooperative in which the famous rose water is produced.

Time to have coffee or tea and we will continue our journey to the Dades Gorges where we will enjoy dinner and spend the night.


Day 2: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorge – Merzouga


After breakfast we continue our route to the Todra Valley until we reach its spectacular gorges.

Time to walk along the river bank and get carried away by a wonderful landscape.

Time for lunch We continue the route in 4×4 until we reach the palm groves of Jorf. We will make a stop to visit a very old irrigation system, the canals are underground.

Erfoud, known for being the capital of mineralized fossils. In the afternoon we will arrive to the desert of Merzouga, where a caravan of dromedaries will be waiting for us.  the impressive dunes of Erg Chebbi and we will be able to enjoy the beauty of the desert and its implacable silence.

We will then arrive at the camp where we will enjoy dinner and a magical night under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert

We will get up early to see the spectacular sunrise in the desert.  We will have breakfast and we will go with the dromedaries back to the lodge to be able to take a shower.

Then we will take the 4×4 and follow a route that will take us to visit an oasis called Tisardmin.

Continuing with our route we will reach a stopping point to enjoy the Berber families and have a tea with them.

We will continue to the town called Khamliya, where we can enjoy dances and songs typical of the region.

Drvie  to Rissani to visit the traditional Souqs which has variety of typical products,

we can also observe a large parking lot for donkeys.

 Surely you would like to taste a very typical dish of the area called “Madfona” which consists of a typical Arab bread stuffed with meat, onion and 44 species.

After lunch we will return to the lodge where we can rest a bit, shower and be able to observe a fantastic sunset. We will have dinner and then enjoy another wonderful night in the desert.

Day 4: Merzouga – The Drâa Valley – Ouarzazate

Another day to experience a beautiful sunrise in the desert. Breakfast and start of our route to the Drâa Valley.

We will pass through the black desert and acacias (Saghro mountain) through Nekob, the town of 44 Kasbahs.

Lunch and in the afternoon we will reach the Drâa Valley, bathed by one of the largest rivers in all of Morocco called Drâa as the same valley.

The river’s water turns this area into an extensive chain of palm groves.

We will continue with the route until we reach Ouarzazate where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast we will go to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared by UNESCO as World Heritage of Humanity.

It is located a few kilometers from Ouarzazate and a visit is made with a guide from the area.

We will continue our way until we reach the Unila Valley that has spectacular landscapes and its Berber villages.

We will arrive at the Kasbah Telouet , we will also have the opportunity to visit.

Here in a distant time there was a large palace, from the “Glaoui” family.  was built on an old Kasbah dating from the 18th century in order to control the salt mines and the passage of commercial caravans that crossed from black Africa to Imperial Cities through the Drâa Valley.

We will continue along the High Atlas, a mandatory step to reach Marrakech and pass through the mountain pass Tizi’n Tichka which has 2260 meters.
